Zo wie nu in de wereld [zijn] bezit heeft, en ziet [dat] zijn broeder gebrek heeft
en zijn binnenste voor hem af
sluit, hoe blijft de liefde van God in hem?

ASVBut whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him?
BEBut if a man has this world's goods, and sees that his brother is in need, and keeps his heart shut against his brother, how is it possible for the love of God to be in him?

SchWer aber den zeitlichen Lebensunterhalt hat und seinen Bruder darben sieht und sein Herz vor ihm zuschließt, wie bleibt die Liebe Gottes in ihm?
